This article is about the Beijing travel and flights. You can find some useful information in it if you are booking your Beijing flights now.
1. The best time to get here is noon. You can choose the flights or trains to Beijing. For your first day in Beijing, I will recommend this tour: Tiananmen Square – Wangfujin. The Tiananmen Square is a must see for the tourists. After the Tiananmen Square, you can go east. Wangfujing is only about 10 minutes’ walk from here. There are lots of good Beijing snacks in Wangfujing and they are very attractive for the tourists. You can try the snack street in the Xingdongan Shopping Mall. Although they are just some snacks, the price is no low. If you wanna have you dinner here, the cost is about 100 rmb for one person. You can eat a swandwich in the KFC or McDonald’s first, then heading to this snack street. This will save you some money. After all, snack is just snack. You will not feel so good if you have too much of it.
2. For the second day in Beijing, you can visit the famous Great Wall. The Line 919 city bus is your best option to get there. You can take this bus in Deshengmen and it will take you directly to the Badaling Great Wall (go through the Badaling high way). The cost is low too: only 10 rmb. Badaling is the site of the most visited section of the Great Wall of China, approximately 50 miles (80 km) northwest of urban Beijing city in Yanqing County, which is within the Beijing municipality. The portion of the wall running through the site was built during the Ming Dynasty, along with a military outpost reflecting the location’s strategic importance. The highest point of Badaling is Beibalou approximately 0.63 miles (1,015 m) above sea level. The portion of the wall at Badaling has undergone heavy restoration, and in 1957 it was the first section of the wall to open to tourists. Now visited annually by millions, the immediate area has seen significant development, including hotels, restaurants, and a cable car. The recently completed Badaling Expressway connects Badaling with Beijing city. It was here that President Richard Nixon and his wife, accompanied by Vice Premier Li Xiannian, visited on February 24, 1972, during his historic journey to China. It was also the part of the wall climbed by Mao Zedong and other 370 international dignitaries and celebrities. When you get back from the Badaling Great Wall, you can visit Xinjiekou. Lots of Beijingers like shopping in Xinjiekou and you may find some good stuffs for yourself there.
3. For your third day in Beijing, I will recommend the Summer Palace. The Summer Palace or Yihe yuan is a palace in Beijing, China. The Summer Palace is mainly dominated by Longevity Hill (60 meters high) and the Kunming Lake. It covers an expanse of 2.9 square kilometers, three quarters of which is water. The central Kunming Lake covering 2.2 square kilometers was entirely man made and the excavated soil was used to build Longevity Hill. In the Summer Palace, one finds a variety of palaces, gardens, and other classical-style architectural structures. In December 1998, UNESCO included the Summer Palace on its World Heritage List. It declared the Summer Palace “a masterpiece of Chinese landscape garden design. The natural landscape of hills and open water is combined with artificial features such as pavilions, halls, palaces, temples and bridges to form a harmonious ensemble of outstanding aesthetic value.” It is a popular tourist destination but also serves as a recreational park.
